This is the second State of Environment Report for Victoria.
The report describes the state of Victoria’s environment as at time of publication, how and why it has changed over time, and how it is expected to change in the future.
Victoria’s Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability was established to promote environmental sustainability.
One of the Commissioner’s statutory functions is to prepare reports on the state of Victoria’s environment at least every five years.
These reports must be tabled in Parliament and followed by a Government response to any recommendations within 12 months.
