Yellow crested weed fish

Ornate cowfish, Australian Fur-seal or Yellow Crested Weedfish? For your Friday and weekend pleasure, we are delighted to share a fantastic initiative from Museums Victoria. In celebration of National Science Week, the team has turned some of Senior Curator, Marine Invertebrates Dr Julian Finn’s scientific images into puzzles. Even better, you can choose to make the puzzle in three different levels – easy (10 pieces), medium (60 pieces) or hard (200 pieces). Start working on the puzzles here.

Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability is pleased to see that one of our favorite photos of the Yellow Crested Weedfish by Dr Julian Finn from the State of the Bays report has been transformed into a puzzle. Julian spotted this fish hiding among the fronds of a dislodged piece of sea weed, washing back and forth in the ocean swell beneath Flinders Pier in WesternPort.

Quick fact

Did you know that Victoria is one of only two jurisdictions in Australia (the other being the ACT) with an independent Commissioner charged with periodic State of the Environment reporting? Read about Victoria’s Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability.
