The Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability (CES) has welcomed two new staff members Fiona McKenzie (left) and Claire Ruedin (right) to the team. Fiona McKenzie is on secondment as Principal Science Writer; and Claire Ruedin is the new Communication and Engagement Officer.

“We are really looking forward to working with Fiona and Claire on our next big report – the Victorian State of the Marine and Coastal Environment 2021 report,” says Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability Dr Gillian Sparkes.

“The candidate calibre was exceptional and both Fiona and Claire bring vital skill sets and new perspectives to our major pipeline of reporting in progress.”

The Framework for the Victorian State of the Environment (SoE) 2023 Framework, Science for Sustainable Development was released in June 2020 and now the CES is working towards the release of the SoE 2023.

Fiona brings the highest standard of policy and planning expertise from her background at DELWP; and Claire, ex Sustainability Victoria, brings deep experience to our work and will be connecting and engaging with CES stakeholders and the wider community.
