State of the Environment

Preparation and research for the 2018 State of the Environment report is underway.

What is this report used for?

The State of the Environment report provides an overview that helps government, business and the community take practical action to benefit the environment and improve environmental health. It also sets benchmarks against which progress can be measured.

Why do we report?

The Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Sustainability collects scientific data on the state of Victoria’s natural environment, including trends over time.

Reports on the state of Victoria’s environment are published at least every five years.
